The art direction for SOLCADIA is made by our internal team’s amazing artists Ya-Wen and Joppe. For sculpting we use Blender 3D, an open source 3D creation suite with a professional pipeline for rendering and video games. It features powerful sculpting and animation tools that enable us to create almost anything imaginable from profile pictures to in-game assets. The textures are created using Substance 3D Painter, the industry standard used in game and movie production, as well as in product design, fashion and architecture.
The game is being built in Bento, our custom in-house engine that can export to web, mobile and desktop. Bento is a modular, component based Javascript game engine. Using our own engine allows us to make quick adjustments, do rapid development and have full control over the game without any of the bloat of a proprietary game engine.
The GENESIS avatar generation will be initially available on Ethereum. Ethereum is the community-run technology powering the cryptocurrency ether (ETH) and thousands of decentralized applications. Ethereum is currently moving away from proof-of-work to a proof-of-stake system which will reduce Ethereum’s energy consumption by around 99.95%.
The game will be powered by a yet-to-be-announced blockchain. This will be announced later.
